"You’re so dark, pretty dark
You cross this room like a radiant spark
Cool sunglasses, leather jacket A big black tattoo on your neck
You’re so free, you’re so wild
You make me feel just like a child
Why do you wanna talk to me?
Rebel, rebel , I’ve got no idea" (Extrait de "I'm Not A Bad Boy")

Druids of the Gue Charette (what a fuckin' name!) are a combo from beautiful Brittany to preach the unhealthy word of Psychedelic Garage Rock with Post-Punk! This album is a missile!
Right away, there's a visual, the one on the cover, splendid, invoking a satanic ritual having followed a trip under acid that would have degenerated! And these songs! Satanic descendants of the 13th Floor Elevators or Vanilla Fudge, the Breton seduce us with this cryptic psychedelism, as if the Cramps had added to their 50's and 60's single collection a good swig of Joy Division or Sisters Of Mercy.
This "occult rock from Brocéliande" (according to the band's bandcamp) is bewitching, dangerous and addictive. From the singer's deep and versatile voice to the acid guitars (between Christian Death and the Dead Kennedys), from their stoogian and "mental" groove to their quality of composition, I can say that this is one of the best rock albums of 2020!
If you don't like it, go die! Otherwise, you buy right now !
