ATTENTION !
WARNING! this album is not intended for sensitive souls nor for those who think that black metal has become a packet of laundry like any other! If you come from the emo and you are "too much fan" of some bands that I won't mention but that only have black metal on the label, go on your way ! If, on the other hand, you're looking for black metal in its strictest truth, its primordial abomination, then be welcome in the total hell promulgated by Necrohorizon on this second album...
I had already said a lot of good things about Necrohorizon during the release of his demo number 1 (in 2019, see here: www.webzinelescribedurock.com/2019/11/les-crocs-du-scribe-n36-special-forgotten-wisdom-productions.html) and even more when he released his first album Legion last year (see here: www.webzinelescribedurock. com/2020/07/review-necrohorizon-legion-raw-black.html) because, if I'm able to appreciate refined, melodic and sophisticated music, I must admit that I regularly need to blow my brains out with black legions (Bélkètre in particular, but also Vlad Tepes and Mutiilation) to remember what black metal means. Legion, the orchestra man lurking in the shadow of Necrohorizon sends me back to this blessed era of the devils: a black metal without beauty, noisy, dirty like a scrofula rat, which chains up the tracks like so many punk glaviots in a magma of distortion. Necrohorizon doesn't try to please, and that's what I like!
The ten tracks that make up II are threaded together with an unhealthy pleasure for the listener, who has the feeling of having landed in hostile territory inhabited by demons or mutant beings from elsewhere. The darkness of Necrohorizon never sounds "fake" and will haunt you long after listening to it. It is possible that the first listening will surprise you (it is even probable) and that you will only discern a sound magma worthy of noise, but each listening refines the subject, and under the layer of saturated filth lie riffs of great inventiveness. In short, it's not complicated, this album is going to be one of those we love or hate (everything is always better than the polite indifference of "mmh well it's ok") but I must say that I've already found an album that will inevitably end up on the podium of the black metal albums of 2021, because I'm fed up with fakes, and this one is a real one: if you're looking for the truth about black metal: go for it!
With II Necrohorizon drives the nail in and confirms all the hopes I had put in it: a rare record, which transpires authenticity and real filth: if you like black metal, the real one, you owe it to yourself to possess it!
