Peux tu nous en dire un peu plus sur la genèse du projet ?  Salut Pierre, Tout d'abord, je tiens à te remercier pour cette interview. je me réjouis de répondre à tes questions. Ayant officié longtemps dans divers groupes et projets underground, en tant que batteur, cela faisait longtemps que j'avais envie de créer mon propre projet solo, que je puisse diriger comme bon me semble, au rythme qui me convient . J'aime composer de la musique donc c'était naturel que ça se fasse un jours ou l'autre. Cela a débuté en 2019, sous le nom de Tales Of Invasions. Mon idée initiale était de partir sur un projet viking-epic BM à la Bathory. J'ai donc composé et enregistré une première démo dans la foulée, qui contenait 5 morceaux, dont les pistes "Taïga" et "Fall of The Warrior King()" *qui apparaissent également sur le premier EP de Gallic Hammer...

Owl Cave, groupe (ou plutôt one-man band) de S., est originaire de Paris, et nous propose, avec ce premier album nommé Broken Speech un long titre de 43 minutes décomposé en six parties d'un black metal moderne, dissonant, mâtiné de sludge, de noise et de passages ambient, pour un résultat des plus détonnants.


Mis en lumière par un artwork signé du grand Dehn Sora cette oeuvre/monolithe composite est le fruit de trois ans de travail acharné, trois ans qui ont permis à Owl Cave d'émerger de l'ombre, tout en continuant à y demeurer. Un album fascinant, où les guitares se font particulièrement grasses et lourdes, graves comme dans le post-metal le plus poussé, et c'est là aussi que Owl Cave trouve son originalité. D'étranges sons, samples vocaux, bruits électroniques et autres viennent se superposer tout du long de cette écoute, tandis que s'enchaînent des passages extrêmement rapides, blastés à l'envi et d'autres beaucoup plus lourds qui eux-mêmes débouchent sur des passages atmosphériques saisissants. Si ça et là le spectre des influences de Blut Aus Nord ou DeathSpell Omega se fait jour, jamais il ne devient encombrant au point d'ôter à cette oeuvre splendide sa singularité première. Torturé et d'une noirceur palpable, le propos d'Owl Cave est servi par le choix d'apparaître au travers de ces six titres instrumentaux assemblés sur une piste d'une façon si fantomatique que l'on entend parfois un chanteur venu du fond de la cave (du hibou ou de la chouette) venir nous gratter les oreilles alors qu'une écoute attentive nous révèle qu'il s'agit de bruits. La violence inhérente au metal noir est ici bien présente, renforcée par ces tourbillons de guitares dissonantes comme autant de trémolos d'outre-espace. 

Bref, vous l'avez compris, le Scribe a été totalement conquis par cet album fascinant et dont l'ambiance vous hante encore après son écoute. Une chaude recommandation pour toutes celles et ceux qui n'ont pas d'apriori, pas d'allergie particulière aux déclinaisons les plus avant-gardistes du metal extrême. Une pépite ! Pierre

Highlighted by an artwork signed by the great Dehn Sora, this composite work/monolith is the result of three years of hard work, three years that allowed Owl Cave to emerge from the shadows, while continuing to remain there. A fascinating album, where the guitars are particularly fat and heavy, low as in the most advanced post-metal, and it is also there that Owl Cave finds its originality. Strange sounds, vocal samples, electronic noises and others come to be superimposed all along this listening, while extremely fast passages, blasted as much as possible and others much heavier which themselves lead to seizing atmospheric passages. If here and there the spectrum of influences of Blut Aus Nord or DeathSpell Omega appears, it never becomes cumbersome to the point of taking away from this splendid work its first singularity. Tortured and of a palpable darkness, the subject of Owl Cave is served by the choice to appear through these six instrumental tracks assembled on a track in such a ghostly way that we sometimes hear a singer coming from the depths of the cellar (of the owl) coming to scratch our ears whereas a careful listening reveals us that they are noises. The violence inherent to black metal is present here, reinforced by these swirls of dissonant guitars like so many tremolos from beyond space. 


In short, you understood it, the Scribe was totally conquered by this fascinating album and whose atmosphere still haunts you after its listening. A warm recommendation for all those who have no particular allergy to the most avant-garde declinations of extreme metal. A nugget! Pierre

INTERVIEW VINDSVAL OCT 2019  "Je ne peux pas me contenter du hasard ou du non-sens, mon esprit refuse complètement cette idée dont beaucoup semblent aujourd'hui s’accommoder" (Vindsval) William Sheller chante qu'il veut être un homme heureux...je ne sais pas si c'est possible, mais en tout cas, pour moi, avoir le privilège de cette interview est une des choses qui se rapprochent le plus du bonheur. C'est la deuxième fois que le maestro se confie a moi, et cette fois encore plus longuement. C'est sans doute son interview la plus intime, la plus personnelle, et, selon ses mots, probablement la dernière qu'il donnera, l'homme préférant la solitude du créateur. Une dernière fois donc, et ceci nous a permis d'aborder l'enfance de Vindsval, son rapport a l'art, a l'esthétique, au showbiz, la philosophie, la poésie, la lumière, l'histoire...et le black metal, bien sûr. Bref, sans doute la meilleure interview que j'ai eu l'oppor...

Achète un Bundyldo avant qu’il ne soit trop tard" (Nicolas Claux) S'il est vrai que Nicolas Claux (ou Castelaux comme nom de plume selon les cas) a commencé sa carrière à la rubrique faits divers (profanations de sépultures, cannibalisme, utilisation du sang comme "drink" et finalement meutre) il a commencé une deuxième vie après des années d'incarcération.  Se découvrant une passion assez logique pour le metier d'agent mortuaire, qu'il a pratiqué de nombreuses années, il est aujourd'hui directeur de collection chez Camion Noir (le pendant "macabre" du Camion Blanc), mais aussi patron du site de murderabilia...

  WINTERMOON Cold Sky Rising 2023  Black Metal Epique Oui, "winter moon" est bien le titre d'un morceau d'Immortal, et cela n'est pas un hasard. Cet album aux tonalités glaciaires impose Wintermoon comme digne successeur de l'Immortal le plus épique et du Bathory de l'ère Blood, Fire, Death. Il serait pourtant trop simple de limiter la description de ce premier album (après deux Eps) à du name-dropping. J'avoue avoir été soufflé par la qualité des compostions de Cold Sky Rising ! Les neuf titres qui composent cet album sont le fruit inspiré du travail de Gryp, musicien accompli. Ainsi, loin du salmigondis infâme que peuvent générer certains groupes "underground" nous nous retrouvons ici face à un disque très abouti, porté par un black metal épique et majestueux, habité de riffs inspirés aux colorations heavy/black et créant une envie irrépressible de l'écouter encore et encore.   Les soli aussi, chose rare de nos jours, nous entrainent et...

ATTENTION ! Groupe avec humour ! Quand j'ai décroché l'interview qui suit avec l'ami Albatard (le bassiste, vous savez, le mec qui accompagne les musiciens partout 😂 ) je n'avais qu'une inquiétude : qu'il déconne tellement qu'il ne réponde pas à mes questions. Alors, rassurez-vous, en ces jours gris, l'humour de l'ami est bien là, et ça fait vraiment du bien, mais il a eu la gentillesse de jouer vraiment le jeu de cette interview rétrospective où nous revenons en détail sur 20 ans de Gronibard ! Et puis ne vous inquiétez pas, on rendra aussi un bel hommage à Corbier...Et en plus il y a du scoop dans l'air, comme disent les journalisses, Gronibard attendraient un nouveau bébé !! Vous êtes devenus un des groupes les plus importants du grindcore en France, et les fondateurs d’un grind «rigolo » et potache, très axé sur les histoires de fesses. Pouvez-vous nous rappeler un peu les conditions de la naissance du groupe et pourquoi ...
