Penetrator ! Ce nom jaillit dans la nuit étoilée comme une promesse de douleur mal placée, qui va vous faire sentir vivant(e)s ! Penetrator ! C'est aussi un nom venu du passé, d'un temps où le Thrash Metal, s'encanaillant avec le hardcore, produisait un vacarme diabolique du tonnerre ! Penetrator ! Et le bel objet (cd digipack) que j'ai le plaisir d'avoir entre les mains regroupe l'oeuvre de ce groupe entre 1988 et 1990, soit juste avant la sortie de leur premier album "Beyond Your World", qui sera le dernier avec la vocaliste Caro.
Fm Extermination regroupe trois démos, l'EP "Now" et une reprise de Slayer ("Black Magic") saisie en 1989 dans leur ville natale de Strasbourg.

Penetrator, à l'instar des sudistes de Death Power, étaient en pointe sur ce que le metal extrême était en train de devenir. En ces années bénies où les styles n'avaient pas encore généré autant de cases que de groupes, le groupe proposait une musique à cheval entre un thrash brutal à la Kreator ou Sodom, les occulteries speed des premiers Slayer, les débuts du death metal (avec Death en ligne de mire) mais aussi de grosses influences punk et hardcore. Certains morceaux sont de vraies tueries blastées à la limite du grindcore ("Alcool Overdose" sur "Now" !!) et Caro savait hurler comme une démone malfaisante et flippante. On prend un plaisir énorme à replonger dans ces archives précieuses par la magie de cette réedition signée par mes trois labels fétiches (Night Fog, Chaoscibel et The Ritual Productions).
Il faut savoir que le groupe a continué son oeuvre, et, malgré un hiatus de 10 ans (entre 1996 et 2016, existe toujours, sans Caro au micro mais en gardant une vraie fidelité à leur style originel. D'ailleurs, qu'est-elle devenue cette Caro ? (réponse dans la vidéo de Dave Martin ?)
Si vous voulez retrouver les sensations de cette époque inouïe, où tout n'était pas encore écrit, et où la lassitude ne s'était pas installée, plongez vous dans ce recueil de metal extrême et punk jusqu'au bout des ongles, tudieu ! Vous n'en ressortirez pas indemnes mais heureux !

Penetrator! This name springs up in the starry night like a promise of misplaced pain, which will make you feel alive! Penetrator! It's also a name from the past, from a time when Thrash Metal, slumming with hardcore, produced a diabolical thunderous din! Penetrator ! And the beautiful object (digipack cd) that I have the pleasure to have in my hands gathers the work of this band between 1988 and 1990, that is to say just before the release of their first album "Beyond Your World", which will be the last one with vocalist Caro.
Fm Extermination includes three demos, the EP "Now" and a Slayer cover ("Black Magic") captured in 1989 in their home town of Strasbourg.

Penetrator, like southerners Death Power, were at the forefront of what extreme metal was becoming. In those blessed years when styles had not yet generated as many boxes as bands, the band offered a music that straddled the line between brutal thrash a la Kreator or Sodom, the speedy occulteries of the early Slayers, the beginnings of death metal (with Death in the line of fire) but also heavy punk and hardcore influences. Some tracks are real blast killings at the limit of grindcore ("Alcohol Overdose" on "Now"!!) and Caro knew how to howl like an evil and creepy demoness. It's a great pleasure to dive back into these precious archives through the magic of this reissue signed by my three favourite labels (Night Fog, Chaoscibel and The Ritual Productions).
It is important to know that the band has continued its work, and, despite a 10-year hiatus (between 1996 and 2016), still exists, without Caro on the mic but keeping a true fidelity to their original style. By the way, what has become of this Caro? (answers on the Dave Martin's video)
If you want to rediscover the sensations of that incredible time, when everything was not yet written, and when weariness had not set in, plunge into this collection of extreme metal and punk to the end of your fingernails, damn! You won't come out unscathed but happy!
