Chronique - Nuit Macabre/Larve split album - Black Metal - 2024 - Acid Vicious
Nuit Macabre et Larve, deux fleurons du black metal français s'unissent pour faire régner le haut mal dans nos contrées dévastées. Deux groupes, deux univers, un seul but : l'anéantissement de l'humanité.
Le split commence avec Nuit Macabre, que vous connaissez bien si vous lisez régulièrement Le Scribe Du Rock, qui pratique un black metal aux abords épiques et symphoniques tout en gardant un aspect très raw, notamment au niveau des guitares - tronçonneuses dignes des années 90 - et du chant râpeux et hurlé comme mille diables. Après une intro très symphonique qui pose une ambiance fort noire, les trois titres qui suivent installent une charbonnerie d'enfer dans nos têtes déjà si abîmées. Très pur et fidèle à ses fondations, le groupe de Nyghlfar, Julien Hovelaque et Erroiak impose son univers de suie et pourchasse nos âmes affolées pour les offrir au grand maître cornu. De nouveaux titres qui augurent du meilleur pour la suite.
Le projet solo de Mathias Naguy (ex-Hyrgal, Havor) nous en revient après un superbe LP en 2021. Vous savez à quel point j'aime Hyrgal et ha Havor, alors sachez que j'aime tout autant Larve qui dégage de sa coquille puante un black metal fort personnel, aux relents quasi-expérimentaux (ses guitares !!!) avec un chant rampant entre black et death, des patterns de batterie qui alternent avec agilité entre blast-beats et mid-tempi. Pour autant la pureté 90's n'est pas absente ici, simplement, à l'instar des modèles du genre on sent Larve capable de se départir des oripeaux les plus classiques pour nous offrir sa propre bouillasse souffreteuse.
Trois titres seulement, mais trois titres qui vont vous marquer au fer rouge brûlant et ne plus vous quitter. Comme avec Havor, Mathias, avec Larve, a le don de nous imposer un univers propre et sidérant d'ombres portées.
Au final voici un bien beau split de deux combos fort différents mais naturellement complémentaires. Une vision du black metal unique pour chacun de ces deux combos qui viennent nous rappeler - si besoin - à quel point le black metal de France continue d'être de grande qualité.
